that fine ok, yeah i could check that, whats the best way? turn ignition on and see if i get any volts form glow plug wires if i check for volts to ground?
Yeah ok I’ll try that tomorrow, if fuel isn't getting from the tank to the pump is it likely that i should have to investigate to see if there’s air getting a perished fuel lines?
This is the other reason i was asking if this car had a lift pump in the tank like the tddi engines do, i heard the tdci engines don't. As I hear if this fails no fuel gets pumped
As the car runs happily off a jerry can with two pipes on the flow and return from the injector pump/ fuel pump to the can i think this illuminates this part of the fuel system
No I haven't yet, the filter looked like it did have some fuel in it, haven't bled it, its fairly new, would this be necessary? Also i have checked the glow plugs, they are getting volts to them.
The fuel connections, do they have seals in them? Is it possible that it’s them or would I most likely have to replace the hole of the fuel line?
Whenever I replaced a diesel fuel filter , I always filled it up first , got fuel up to the inlet pipe and then cracked each individual injector pipe one at a time whilst cranking the engine till clear fuel and no air .Once it has been bled correctly it should be ok .If not and it was drawing more air , then you could check further .
I have managed to get the car running off its own tank at the moment,
its still not easy to start, and there dose appear to be deposits of diesel from the leak off pipes.
I keep getting a couple of fault codes, some related some not, there was an injector code p1211 this appeared to go away after i realised that one of the injectors had been programmed previously with one letter incorrect
An unrelated code which keeps bringing on the engine management light and sometimes the glow plug light flashing putting the car in limp home mode
P1632 and P0622
whats the next best thing to look at???,
Im thinking about taking the injectors out and get them cleaned and the glow plugs too
