Please help!!! 2003 Ford focus 2.0L sohc split port. While replacing the timing belt and removing the harmonic balancer, I broke a tooth from the harmonic balancer. I think the teeth are for the crankshaft position sensor. Will this cause the engine to run as if it were out of time?z

You sure you broke one off? Most are designed with a "missing tooth" eg 01-11 Ford Ranger Escape Focus Mazda Mariner 2.0L 2.3L Engine Harmonic Balancer | eBay
If you have replacements dampers are cheap enough.

Yes I am absolutely certain I broke one. I now have 2 spaces in the gear whereas originally only one.

Yes; well that will really confuse the crank position sensor.
