My fiancee had an accident back in 2009. I'm debating whether it is worth fixing this car. It doesn't run, both airbags popped out. How much it will cost me to fix this? Both radiators are busted.
Cant really see from two pictures extent of damage properly . But looks substantial with possible chassis leg , body damage underneath which would need aligning with a body jig .Depends on year also with regard to whether it was even a viable proposition , which I doubt .If car was written off by insurance that would back up my thoughts .You dont know if there is engine , transmission problems also . Impossible to estimate from here .
I would say it's done, on the front right corner it looks like the crash was enough to bow out the fender, so most likely it was hit back hard enough to bend that side of the frame, I bet if you get under there and look, you can tell the frame is damaged too much.
Not only that, but I bet the passenger door hits the fender, which usually indicated that the frame was bent.
But as R.S said, it's kinda hard to definitively tell from here, take it to a body shop, and see what they say, I bet they could tell with it still on the tow truck.
If it is totaled beyond repair. strip it, take the motor out, trans, and anything else that might still be good, and sell it. You could bank $2000 from all the parts on there easily.
The inner wing / fender valance is certainly split from chassis leg , but cant see if bent or not . To repair CORRECTLY looks like it may be an uneconomical project .
Just part it, R.S is right because I see the split too, and if it did that, then most likely something is bent a lot.
After having welding done, and most likely a frame pull, then replacing practically everything plastic on the front, it very well might come up over $5000 to fix it when all is said and done.
