Gearbox Problem (iB5 Transmission)
[FONT=Arial]The wife recently told me she was having difficulty changing gear in her 1.8 Focus Zetec (Year 2000). I found that she had hit a speed hump breaking 3 clips on the plastic gear selector mechanism cover(iB5 transmission), the cover was held on by the other 4 clips. Under the cover part of the selector cable plastic adjuster had broken off but I could adjust the cable and lock the mechanism. However adjusting this makes no difference to the gear lever which does not spring back to the central position (while in neutral). It appears as if a spring is not working on the gear lever. Any help would be greatly appreciated
