Ha ha don't think I have a go at everybody!!! Sorry mate.
The difference in feel for starters is the most obvious, with the MTX75 Zetec box being used also by the Turbo Focus RS over in Europe, as it's a much stronger, smoother and more rugged gearbox. The CL/LX box Tim knows about but it's something like IL18 or something like that I can't remember. It is a bit rougher, still very smooth but doesn't have the same feeling of strength in the gearshift or take up. THe Zetec also gains an upgraded clutch, that gives a FAR stiffer action and feel. No doubt thanks to the massive 10kw of neck snapping extra power.... he he he
Ratios are different, I THINK they're slightly shorter on the Zetec but again it may be the other way round (I have a 50% chance!!). It's not something many salespeople would know, but when you're obsessed with the focus and you can tell somebody things only an enthusiast would know it's amazing how much it can really show people that you are genuinely interested in the car and hence that it must be at least half worth buying!!
