Guys i am having trouble sourcing a Heavy Duty for the CL...
My clutch is way to soft for the way thay i drive and i am sick of pulling up at a set of lights taking the engine to 2500rpm and dumping the clutch only to have it just SLIP!
I have tried everywhere in Aust and no one makes one for the 1.8.
Does anyone know if the Zetec Clutch fits on a CL?
Thanx Russ

From what I've read, the clutch is the same for a 1.8 and 2.0 (don't know if the zetec is different). So if you've found a heavy duty clutch for a 2.0, it should be ok on a 1.8. Just search on ffoc.co.uk and y;ou should find out what I have.
Not sure, but mine's definitely a clutch on Viagra, Stiff as anything and I LOVE it, can't STAND soft clutches. Never heard if the Zetec clutch fits a CL though, I imagine it's be a direct swap as the engines are identical externally.
So long as you havent been purposely abusing the clutch, take it to Ford. No reason for it to be slipping already?
brother - The CL and LX Foci have a different gearbox to the Zetecs, and all CL and LX 2 litres are auto, so would have a different setup.
The clutch is a known weak point on any Foci (other than ST170, though havent heard anything good nor bad about those), ask Resty - he had his replaced by Ford on his Zetec.

How much boost?
Well mine doesnt slip unless i want it too...
It is soft as hell in the CL and i hate the fact that i simply CAN NOT take off with any sort of tyre squeekage! (Is that a word?)
So you think i would be ok to source a heavy duty one for a Zetec and it will fit?

Isnt it possible to just get some stiffer springs put in the clutch assembly. The zetec and st170 have a wider diameter clutch (the same in both i think) and since they are wider, make the clutch stiffer (by adding stiffer springs?) to prevent more slippage. Im not entirely informed on the topic, but if you get some feedback from someone in the know let me know coz i want a firmer clutch too on my SR (which is a CL with extras).
I have no probs with my clutch operating in my Zetec.....only a clutch rattle when cold and in nuetral but thats another issue and story all together....

Hmmm it seems good old Marcus has pulled through and should have a clutch that will do the job. But i will check at the local dealer and see what a ST clutch will cost me
