Help with 2008 Focus Headlamps

Hello members,

I just purchased a 2008 Ford Focus SES (SYNC ROCKS) and after about a 3 weeks noticed that my head lights while driving were bouncing. I assumed it might be a loose bulb. After opening the hood, and to my surprise, I noticed that one of the head lamp mounts were cracked/broken and the other headlamp mount has started to crack. (please see photos below).

Has anyone had a issue like this with their current body style Ford Focus. I'm now waiting to hear back from a local Ford dealership to see if they will cover it under the factory warranty. I think it is a defect in the plastic material used.

Thank you for you help.

Re: Help with 2008 Focus Headlamps

Very strange , similar set up with Fiestas . Never came across that so far ,looks as if someone has been at headlamps and over tightened mounting bolts when refitting lamp assemblies . The only thing I can think of was bulb replacement or possible accident damage at some time with previous owner . Even mis alignment of headlamp for what ever reason should not cause enough strain to fracture mountings . I would have a good look at front end for any sign of repair . If part defect , should be under warranty . Lets know how you get on .
