help!!!! engin power loss at speed

Please help me i drive a 2003 ST170. And at high speeds after long journeys or hot humid weather my car starts to kangaroo as if theirs no petrol (even with a full tank) usually around 3000 - 4000 rpm especially when i ask the engine to accelerate. i have changed spark plugs, manifold inlet thingy, coil pack, air filter & fuel filters. their are no engine management lights and its really frustrating as i work 1hr from home so this happens every journey, i have asked my local ford specialist but they suggested the manifold inlet thing at considerable cost but no luck.

How many miles are on it? You might try getting a fuel volume and pressure reading to see if they are in specs. It's possible your fuel pump is going out. Check those and see what you find.

Re: help!!!! engin power loss at speed

It sounds like a fuel problem. Any good shop will be able to do the test.

Maybe the DPFE sensor? The symptoms you describe sound similar.
