I have a 2003 Focus. Everything was great. I replaced the battery. Everything was great. For awhile. Then, one day, I went to start the car and it did start, but was rough, with rough idle. I began driving when all the lights on my instrument panel started going off and on, and my car suddenly died. I coasted, shifted into neutral and was able to re-start it, but the rough idle, very choppy engine response and the "dummie" lights continued to act "crazy!" WHAT in the world is going on here??? Please, please help!!

Might be worthwhile getting alternator output tested. If that is o.k ,diagnostic check would be advisable .

i would definitely get it checked out. anytime your lights are going on and off like crazy, something is up.

Rough idle can be associated with a bad IAC sensor (idle air controller), located around the throttle body. Replacing the TPS is also advisable while you're in that area, as it's also a regular maintenance item. If you have over 100,000miles I wouldn't rule out a bad alternator. It'd be a good idea to get it tested if the problem still persists after replacing the sensors.
