My 2006 Ford Focus failed smog and has three codes: P0410, P0491, and P2258. I'm on an extremely tight budget and would like to try and troubleshoot this myself. Any tips on where to start? I'm an amateur so if you can help me I would appreciate it!

See if this will help you. OBD-II Trouble Code: P0410 Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction The pump can get water in it and freeze, as well as other problems, causing the codes P0410 and P0481. The pump should run when it's first started. Have you checked all of the fuses? There's quite a bit to the system. All of the codes are for the AIR system.
