Hello...

I own a 2002 Ford Focus LX (4 door sedan).

It does not have a tachometer (only speedometer, temperature gauge, and fuel meter).

I'm interested in installing an aftermarket tach and I am trying to figure out my options. I've heard that I can order the Ford instrument cluster that includes the tach and plug that in (in place of the current instrument cluster).... apparently there is wiring that would allow me to connect the tach.

I'd also be willing to install an aftermarket tach, but there doesn't seem to be any place to mount it, short of just sticking it on the top of the dash.


At any rate I'd be curious to know what others have done in this situation.

Can't say i am able to help on that part as my car SVT has the tacho as std...

i doubt there are any people on this forum who have put in a tacho aftermarket as most of us have them as standard. i see no reason however why you cannot put one in either aftermarket or swapping the entire cluster. i must say that i personally hate the huge monster tachos so i would never put one up on my dash. maybe if you could find one small enough you could fit it inthe small coin/stuff holder to the left of the intrument cluster...although if you got one that small its kinda useless. sorry i can't be of any real help.
