I'm going to be putting a deck in my dad's car for father's day, and i was wondering what the best way to remove the center panel is, so i don't break the clips or w/e is holding it in place. Pics would be greatly appreciated. Also if there are any model specific things i should know about it i.e the red LED in the stock tape deck. It's a 2001 SE 4 door if that helps. Thanks.
I have removed my H/U you do not need to buy a special U shaped tool, I just used 4 bits of wire(bout 3mm dia)with one of the ends flattened off a little(use a hammer for this...on the wire not the H/U!!!!). Push them in the 4 holes as far as you can and out it will come easy stuff...

i removed mine to install an alpine 6 stacker under the seat and plug the cable in the back of the stock HU. Worked like a charm with the right adapter. Used bent two ends of coathanger wire, worked like a charm
