I have a 2004 Focus 2.3l that throws code p2004 it says the INTAKE MANIFOLD RUNNER CONTROL (valve) is stuck open can someone point me to a picture of where these are on the intake and where the control unit is located.

Thanks, if one of the flaps are stuck open (the ones in the input port)
a. what would cause that
b. can they be replaced or does the whole intake have to be replaced.
c. what can I do to diagnose the actual problem.

I have basic tools, digital meeter etc...

Sometimes you got to take the whole intake manifold off, and clean the butterfly valves their, usually when just one stays open, it's worth cleaning the whole shabang, a lot of carbon build up can cause the valves to get stuck.

Dam dual stage intake manifolds, but you got to admit, when you hit 2800K the whistling sound is pretty cool, and she takes off like a beast.
