Here are the pics of my lowered Zetec finally, it has now been tinted darkest legal and lowered within 3 weeks. I reckon it looks absolutely sensational, handles like the clappers and just makes me smile looking at it. Took out the digital camera after it got washed and took photos near parts of Sydney Harbour close to my place and incidentally close the Sydney Ford Dealers HQ, where I saw that Mer Silver GT with the similar design 10 spoke split alloys like those in the zetec, made for the perfect shot... anyhoo, in response to all of those out there wanting to lower, the 40mm lowering KW Springs from Infocus Motorsport are awesome, handle fantastically, don't minds speedhumps (a few km/h slower though) and don't make the car scrape really at all. Only difference is, as with any lowered stiffened car, the slight extra boat-floatiness over bigger undulations rather than absorbance. I have no complaints, worth the trade off for the handling (NO body roll!!!!!), extra stability ant fantastic looks. To make it sweeter, she now has a sexy nose down stance evident in some of the photos. Yum!!!!!!!!!!!!!
damn, that looks dead sexy! I'm now thinking of saving up all me money and doing a road trip to NSW... give the infocus boys a visit, and do everything I want with the car at once! heh...

Fantastic! I am soo tempted.....you kept the stock shock absorbers right?
BTW I see you have changed the rear fog light (on the RH side) for the reverse light. I want to do that too, are all the cables there already, ie. so the reverse light goes on when reverse is selected? Was it easy to do?
looks great. hey zetec, now all you need is the skirts and you've created a slightly lower version of my car! lol. so much for keepin her stock hey! do you plan on puting any kind of kit on your car later on? cos im sure if you do you will have scraping problems as i do now, just a thought

If trees could scream...would we be so cavalier in cutting them down?
.....maybe.....if they screamed all the time for no good reason.
Thanks for the compliments, I haven't met anyone who doesn't like it now, it's awesome what a simple 40mm drop will do to change from a simple hatchback that nobody looks at to one that everyone stares at!!!
Kymera4 I'm putting on a stock front spoiler, the factory one just likes yours. I know i'll get scrapes, I have already scraped the standard black plastic/rubber strip. Worth it in my books!!!!! I'tll look better and the factory unit is the smallest lip I can find anyway. Just what I'm looking for to balance out the car. Don't need skirst or that rear bit, just the front. I told you my car would begin to look more and more like yours!!!! But yeazh as soon as I started working full time the whole "never modding" it kinda got blown out the window lol... the list is extending to front spoiler, cat-back zorst, rear wing and possibly colour coded moudling. Then I'm sweet!!! And broke.
Brother I did keep the standard shocks, all stock as a rock save for the lower springs. Works great, a bit floatier, not as supremely balanced as say the ST170 but for overall body control it's now much better. Generally it handles 95% better, just the bigger undulations and bumps where tha car crashes a bit much for my liking, but overall the looks and handling pays off. I just need to keep of bloody Parramatta Road. I don't have to go sideways over speedhumps or anything so it's cool, it's not exactly a 200sx with NO springs...
As for the reversing light, forgot I had done that. It is still connected to the rear fog bulb actually so it comes on when i turn on the rear fog. It uses the same bulb, so all that needs to be done is to have the wires crossed over. I'm investigating how to do it properly, if not i'll just splice them over. Right now it's just for looks, but I get people now telling me one has blown and I have to explain!!!

Here's hoping for me too! But I will have to make do with 35mm.
I want to get rid of the rear fog light mainly for looks but also I doubt the fact the cars on my right would even know I am about to reverse. I will speak to my dealer about it on Tuesday...... gettin my interior ceiling replaced of all things!

Matt, just be aware, that with the higher spring rates, your dampers will wear out faster. More spring means the shock is working harder and getting hotter. So, if you want to maintain the handling and the benefits of these shocks, I'd suggest looking into some Konis or Bilsteins at some point. I can help out with Koni, for you.
