I've recently had to replace the front disc brake rotors and pads for the wife's 2002 CL Focus hatch. The car has only done just above 30,000km's.

I had some harder, after-market discs and pads fitted in liu of the genuine Ford parts - as even the service manager looking after the car admitted it could happen again in another 30,000km using the Ford parts. The after-market are expected to last b/w 80-100,000km, and only cost me $530 (with pads guaranteed for life !)

Being a European model (2002 model), obviously parts are expensive, I've heard that front and rear mud-flap sets cost around $400 for the Focus
-what's the most expensive part you've had to replace on your Focus ???

..I'd hate to know how much a transmission costs !!!!!

Eh? Front and rears for this model cost £47.99 GBP, don't know where you're getting that price from.

I'm in Australia, so after conversion (multiply by around 3) and taxes, plus installation, it was about $200 for the front, and around the same for the rear - which is why I was quoted $400 by my dealer.

Here is the solution. Get a set from the UK and install them yourself.
Do I have to do all the thinking for you??????
