NEED SOME HELP TIE ROD ENDS - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

hi i have a ford focus 1.6 v reg

going over some bumps gives me a slight knock on the rront, i changed my front discs and pads on both sides and a friend said that the knocking was the (think they are called this) tie rond ends - they are about 6 inches long with threads on bothe ends with nuts and ball joints.

can anyone tell me how these are changed as i do not have any experience and if they are easy to do so.

I think you mean the front anti roll bar link arms . It's just a case of removing the top / bottom lock nuts and taking off . Refitting is reversal .Simple job .

Glad to help .If you need any further help , get back to forum .Sometimes the ball socket / taper turns when you try to take off nut , but there should be either flat for a spanner or a hex on the nose that enables you to hold whilst loosening nut . If the worse comes to worse , just cut them off .
