hi, i have just bought a three year old focus but i can smell burning under the bonnet i have no manual can anyone tell me where the leaver is to open the bonnet
by the time a focus owner writes back i fear your car might be on fire. lol.
Im a fiesta owner, so im gona have a guess. i THINK with focus you have to use the key to get into the bonnet. there should be a keyhole in the front grill.. try that?

why is it that you don't have a manual? i mean...i guess i can't talk because i don't have one....but thats cos mine was stolen (yeah go figure). but yes...flip up ford badge and use ignition key.

Really DUMB idea that key lock. Put me off buying one. That and the lock on the fuel cap, and the blinkers on the left, and the crap brakes and the fact that all but the base model 1.8L require premium unleaded..........

what and if your xc is a real gxl you should have a fuel cap lock as well base model 1.8 requiring premium where did you here that the zetec maybe but not cl or lx Brakes well im yet to have a problem i find them quite good and the pedel feels great and blinkers ya soon get use to them i actually prefer them on the left...
Locking cap was an option on the GXL. I noted that "all BUT the base model requires
premium unleaded". I dont want to have to get used to something, I want it to be like every other car I've owned. I mentioned to my brake mechanic that I was considering buying a Focus. He said " parts are really expensive, we see them with 30,000Km requiring $800 worth of work to the brakes" This has been verified by several members of this forum. The materials are not good enough for Australian conditions. The ones on the St170 are probably OK. But Who wants to pay $37,000 for a 3 door Focus ,lol.Think I will buy an SP23 Mazda. Only performance four that runs on regular unleaded.
The SP23 looks like a nice package. Will the next model Focus become competitive against it? I am thinking we may get the SP23 with the new leather upgrade package if the new Focus doesn't come close to it in specs and options.
