OD blinking help

So I did a tranny flush 07 focus SE. I started driving and it wouldn't shift out of first or second just kept reefing. Of light started flashing orange ( no check engine light) I pulled in a park and checked fluid I got it was soaked in fluid and over the max line wiped off got barely any reading. Wiped it again got low I put more fluid in shit car off and it's running fine like 35 miles. Checked fluid multiple times and got one side of the dipstick showing nothing and other side little fluid on the dipstick but past the max line each time. I'm confused did the light flash because it was low on fluid or is there to much. It is shifting much better now then before I did the flush.

Re: OD blinking help

What fluid did you put in? Are you checking it with the engine running? Is the light flashing anymore? It shouldn't be at MAX unless the fluid is too hot to touch. How much fluid did you put in after changing the filter? When you say flush. what do you mean?

Used motorcraft mercon V. Checked with engine running, no more flashing I put in 6 quarts plus most of another quart. It holds 6.6 I took out over 6 quarts from the pan and tourque converter

Re: OD blinking help

The transmission actually holds 13.4 total. It's hard to remove much just pulling the pan.

Re: OD blinking help

In the torque convertor, valve body, cooler, and clutches. To replace more, you can't get all of it out, read this. It's mentioned for a Toyota but it's the same for any car. Re: ATF, ATF filter, and ATF pan gasket Change Procedure

The main thing is to get your level up where it belongs and see how it does. You can change more the next change.
