I just bought used 2003 2.3 DOHC Focus whit 55K on it and can't make more than 300 milles a tank in average which is inacceptable.
Othervise the car runs and accelerate greate, but gas consuption?
What to do first in order to fix it? Air filter have 150K life, tire presure OK, brakes OK, driven very moderate.
These should average 28MPG, this works out at 342 miles/tank. Are you going by the trip computer or actually running the vehicle until empty? Can work out to be two different things.
well, I fill up and run until is almost empty. I can hardly make 300 milles. Mostly, 250 milles? This model is maintenence free on air filter and spark plugs. Any sugestion what to do?
I wouldn't say 'maintenance free'- otherwise I wouldn't have a job Air filter and plugs get binned on 37.5 k miles in the UK. I'd get it booked in for a diagnostic run.
