To our ST 170 brethren. Is the ST170 Gear boot and handbrake boot leather?

I can't believe the cheap vinyl in my Zetec. Want to swap for leather, and if the ST170 is leather as standard, would make it a whole lot easier. Local Ford parts guy couldn't tell me.

what?! not leather? So you mean that I have been rubbing expensive leather conditioner into vinyl? please tell me that the steering wheel is real leather. Melbzetec, have a question for you, what can I expect to pay for the ST170 pedals?

Yep they certainly are leather.

Do you know how expensive genuine ST170 parts are ?

The steering wheel is leather. I had no idea about the gear and handbrake boots, but I had my suspicions.

If you don't want to go down the ST170 track, take a look at www.ffoc.co.uk in the interior section. Some guys have ordered other brand ones off the web in some pretty nice colours (can't remember where, sorry).

Depends which dealer. They get confused on whether the brake and clutch pedal comes as a pair as as singles. About $110 for the brake/clutch pair (some dealers say it's $220 for the pair!) About $50 for accelerator (it's the entire pedal) Pricing is bizzare. Basically because the accelerator is made in a different factory

cheers mate. I was looking at dressing up the interior a bit, and I found that your insurance policy may be voided by the use of some types of pedals, so I thought it might be safer to deal with some origional ford stuff. As for gear boots etc, there are a myriad of brands-isotta or momo make nice ones. Aparently the hardest thing is getting the old one off the inside of the reverse lockout ring.

Some of them are extremely cheap. Clear side indicators = $4 each. ST170 grill is only $70. For a top of the range German import, pretty good for some gear. No doubt alot of other stuff is incredible though.

My biggest shock of late was considering replacing a Ford badge with a stone chip in it on my brothers '01 KQ Laser hatch - $118. Crikey batman.

Yep the side indicators are very cheap indeed

I might have to get some custom bades made up to replace the ford badges in the bonnet and hatch i think easy done and nice and cheap
