Hi guys, not sure if you knew but there is now an ST170 running in class C of the APCC. It's run by a guy called Darren Best, I had a brief chat with him at Sandown where he debuted the car. He'd only had it for 3-4 weeks which was basically time to get the cage in and do the basic prep to go racing. The car was not that quick, in fact he was still having problems with the stability control cutting in as he has not been able to do anything about that yet, but it is early days yet. He is up against some very stiff competition in the form of Leanne Ferrier in the Corolla Sportivo run by TTR (Bates) which is only fractionally slower than the Integras in Class B.

we'll have to watch his progress. i dare say the st170 should be able to outhandle anything in its class, and should have the go to at least keep up with the sportivo. this will be interesting to watch. thanks for the info...

I saw this car on TV (SBS) and unfortunately it had nothing on any of the other cars the TV had the cameras on, including the Integras or the Sportivo.

I'd like to find out more about the car and it's progress, if anyone finds the teams website (if they have one) then be sure to post it.

Maybe somebody should tell him the button for the VDC is next to the gear knob... it fully disables when you press it.

it most definitely fully disables. trust me on that one... he he he just the other night I popped a handbrakey and it wouldn't work if it didn't totally disable.

I don't believe it does fully disable, to be honest. It cannot control things like the handbrake, it has control over your front wheels to a certain extent.

Seriously, I am sure he would have tried that, and I remember reading somewhere about the system not being able to be turned off fully via normal methods.
