I'd appreciate any help in diagnosing my car's problem:

2003 ZTW Wagon

Front-end rattle/bumping/knocking when driving at speeds below ~45mph, going straight and in turns.

Left front tire shows excessive wear on inside tread, w/ some spots nearly bald.

Right ball joint has some sort of fluid on it.

I can recreate the knocking sound if I bounce the right front corner.

I jacked it up and tried looking for excessive play on both sides and found none.

Do the springs look OK? I know my '99 taurus had a recall for potentially broken front coils.

I'd take the car in for a check. A good shop will tell you if the pitman rods, ball joints etc are shot. As you mentioned there is fluid on one of the joints I would bet it's a synthetic grease and that the ball joint is ruined even though you can't get any play out of it yourself, doesn't mean there isn't any.
