tailgate latch

hi my tailgate latch will not work either by the remote or the button on the dash i have tried a latch fom another car and it still does not work any ideas please its a tdci 1800 estate

Can you hear the 'click' for it to release? If not, check fuses. If so, open with key and check the release

Had a few duff GEM modules causing with this one. Are all these faults you're asking about on the same car?! If so, time for a new one methinks.....

yep the two faults are clutch master cylinder and prob with tailgate ia this module expensive please? cannot run to another car its only 53 plate

mr fortech apart from tailgate prob in you opinion will the gem carry on with other functions or is it likley to expire completely i take it that to be replaced it would have to be done at a garage?

The m/c appears to be the same as Transit Connect have a looky here; Find BRAND NEW CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER FORD FOCUS CONNECT on eBay within, Ford, Car Parts, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 05-Dec-07 11:29:27 GMT)
The GEM usually operates everything else as normal when the boot release goes down, and yes it needs to be programmed when replaced. Check the number on the side and have a squint here;
