As it has been a mild NE winter, I had not noticed that my 2003 Focus does not seem to warm up as usual. Is the thermostat the first thing I should check? Antifreeze level is fine. I have changed a thermostat but it was a 1968 Mustang. Is the thermostat on the Focus accessible? Thanks so much.

It is possible that the thermostat is opening to soon. Check the hoses to the heater core when the engine is hot to see how hot they get. If you move the control from hot to cold, does the air come out colder/

Yea I think mine is stuck open right now too, it takes like 5 miles or more to fully warm up.

Thermostat sucks for the Zetec, It's hard to get a good one.
