Re: UK:It's Here:The New Focus

According to CAR Magazine, the ST will get the 2.5l 5 cylinder Turbo from the Volvo S40/V50.

I'm with you bob. Lost an element of toughness in the new generation. Probably good to mention that the elemnt of toughness was not included in the mk1 sedan.

Re: UK:It's Here:The New Focus

it just surprises me how many car designs are stuffed by putting things on them that are not meant to be there.

The focus was not meant to have a boot, the BMW Z3 was not meant to have a roof, but they tried to put one on, I dont think the MGB benefited cosmetically from having a roof either. To a lesser degree, R32, 33 and 34 skylines do not look right with 4 doors.

What the hell is a fastback VW? as if you can get one of those ugly-as-sin-mobiles to take advantage of any aerodynamic benefit that a coupe body could offer anyway. I could go on but it probably wont help my blood pressure.

I'm with you, Suth. As to the fastback VW, I didn't see the original post but I assumed it was those 411s with the flat-four—either that or a Scirocco or Corrado.

That Z3 was one ugly car.

Re: UK:It's Here:The New Focus

Went into my friendly ford dealer today, been advised that the pricing for the St model is going to be around £19k, which is pretty tempting as its both cheaper than the old RS and its quicker. Might just hang on a few months first to see if the rumours about the new 300 bhp 4wd RS version getting killed off are true or not...
