I know there is a slanging match going on in another area of this Forum over unichip, but it's all to do with V8 Falcons ( Been there, done that). Focus is a different beast
I like the fact that all the the fuel, air, and ignition factors in the engine can be tuned, but there is nothing like the voice of experience.
I don't want to fork out big money for little gains ( mind you, I'm not after a "boy racer" big kW figure necessarily, just great driveability, responsiveness, acceleration etc) And Motec at $2500 is a little over the top!!!
Thoughts?

Seriously, I think that chipping a car (unichip, XEDE, CT) is probably one of the best things you can do. I know that from my experiances so far (and theres more to go yet) the ability of the chip to tune the car to almost perfection can change the cars feel like nothing I have ever experianced. I will go so far as to say that I will, without a doubt, chip every car I own from this point on. They are just that good if tuned correctly. Just wait till I release the comparison before and after dyno graphs, its amazing.
What happened to the uni-chip for the ST170 they said it would take the st over 140kw, but it never became available here?
I also noticed that infocusmotorsport has a chip called Diablo sport, I emailed them twice and got no response... great buisness sense there!
Looks like our Foci's are chipless here in AU?

send APS an Email there is no reason why it coundn't be done, ask if they have done one before and see how it went, every car will have a different result..
if you not in a hurry send aps a PM, Peter is O/S this week so you wont get a answer for about 6 days..
APS have been very helpful. They have the wiring specs fo a Focus, but haven't done one before at APS.
That's why I was asking whether anyone had one installed by one of their agents, and if so, what was their experience. I may be the guinea pig!
It will be a month or two before I'm ready to go,but I'll come back with the results.
Thanks for the feed back guys

Car certainly isnt unchippable, check out the bluefin over in the UK, be easy to import one over here after all it is the same car... though they have been having problems with it of late, so might be a bit before it gets working correctly, but once it is, just an ECU change and all nice and easy
I know the Blakc Oak ST170 ECU was impossible to crack for a long while... Powerchip currently don't offer anything for Zetecs but I think they now can do ST's... amazing how little support there is for the little things. I reckon the Zetec especially, but also the regular unleaded CL and LX models would respond greatly...
