What colour paint to use ?

I bought some st170's foggies. The foggies come in pairs of 3 pieces. 1 pair foglights, 1 pair bumper bezels and 1 pair foglight bezels. The foglight bezels are the chrome looking things. The bezel for the bumper is just plain plastic grey that's I want to paint.

Any ideas of what colours would look cool?

The car is black.

Thanks in advance for those who contribute.

Re: What colour paint to use ?

Personally, I would go yellow. The contrast appeals to me.

I have heard that an adapter is needed for them. Did you get any or are they not needed.

I would be very interested to hear how you put them in and how easy/hard it is since I have thought of doing it too.

Andrew

Re: What colour paint to use ?

Whoa yellow! Not my first choice, but everyone is different!

Your car is already very black, but it would be the conventional choice. Chrome would have large quanitites of RICE (tm) but would match the wheels, although it would also be a pain to keep clean, due to bugs et al. A silver would be nicer than the stock flat grey plastic.

My choices would be silver and then black.

Cheers... Tim

Re: What colour paint to use ?

I read about connectors being necessary on ffoc.co.uk. I don't know if they are talking about the Mk 1 (no indicators in headlights) or Mk 2 (I think we get this one, correct me if I am wrong someone). Here is the thread I remember reading:

http://forum.ffoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29210

Although, this one seems to indicate the modeo connector is for the indicator, which makes me think it is for the Mk 1. The indicator wire probably went down to the front with the fog light wire (I am only guessing)

http://forum.ffoc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28897

I would find it difficult to understand if they did use a different connector and after reading that second thread I reckon you should be right. Sorry to send you off on a tangent. Let me know if they fit.

Cheers

Andrew

oh yeah.....I still think yellow but hey, not really classy as such, but you certainly would notice them!

Could you tell me how much they cost. No cost price deals up here for me unfortunately, but usually not too bad....... $4.50 for clear side indicators.....pretty happy with that.

Re: What colour paint to use ?

umm yeah not exactly as cheap as the side indicators. They charge about $260 per unit, that's roughly $520 the pair. stops people like us from bastardising ST170's, if we do then they get rich... boooo. My employee prices are a fair bit better but I can only get them for my own car, jus that I was going to do that then possibly swap them down the track for Resty's exhaust... now no more reason to get them... not worth the money IMO

Why not Red instead of Yellow - still look at me factor but toned down a bit! And you have that RedBack spider thing happening too :)

Re: What colour paint to use ?

I think you should leave the fogs as they are, but thats my opinion though.

In mine i think it would take away from the aluminum ring, unless ya paint them black

Is that for the Fogs or the headlamps??? either way both wayyyyyyyy over priced!!

I got them for a buddy of mine €55 each!!! from Ford dealer (but thats including my 20% discount ) They are Hella lamps and he used a connector off an old golf and he aint having any probs yet!
