Re: Wheres Boss Edit?

Some of you are missing the point in all this. Like talking to a deaf and blind mute.

There is little argument that Unichip and other piggybacks get the numbers on the dyno. But let's look at a supercharged Boss for an example of how to do the same thing:

Piggyback:
Buy the CAPA kit which includes supplementary fuel pump, FMU, boost box, add Unichip or equivalent, numerous fuel line additions and diversions, wiring additions and cut/shuts. Tune on dyno and get 450kW. Go to road/strip and FEEL the engine cutting back the timing as torque management comes into play and if you have an auto you have to shift manually if it doesn't want to stall as you take off.

Boss Edit:
Buy the CAPA blower and bracket/pulleys. Add XR6T MAP sensor and wiring loom (straight plug in using an adaptor). Add integral fuel pump in tank. Boss Edit and cut out torque tags, auto shift logics etc and tune the idle to stop the hunting (can't do that with Unichip I assure you). Get the same 450kW as piggyback, but likely better torque and driveability everywhere in the rpm scale. Totally driveable and NO factory parameters stopping the fun.

The difference between the two setups is astonishing in theory and most likely practice as well. The Boss Edit promises to offer the same tuning and access to features as the drivetrain guys at FPV/Ford. The upcoming blown FPV Boss (we all know it's gonna happen surely) surely uses the ECU tuning and not all the add on band aids that we require for piggybacks.

Now, for those who say there's no Edited cars running around perhaps you should read this thread a bit closer. Cars have been edited but if you haven't booked your car in perhaps you'll have to wait while those who fronted up in good faith get theirs tuned first. I seriously can't understand why anyone would tune a person's car for free looking for an improvement when other people can see what this offers and have joined the queue already.

Look at LS1s and tell me we haven't started a new world in developing the Ford BA engines.

Have you driven an Edited Car Aussie Pete? was it a test mule or a customers car? if it was a customers car, then would there not have to be a price availbale to the public?

To say book in and join the cue is like telling a builder to built you a house, unsure of what he is going to give you, and without a price aggreed to before he starts.

I am not trying to be a smart Arse, just stating the facts, there is no price relased for the general public, and no one knows what performance is going to be gained.

Again, standard cars, run them on a track like Eastern Creek on a track day, that will give the full effect of the edits drivability a chance to shine, not just WOT as Dev@SCT pointed out.

I dont want to compare piggybacks to edits, that will come, standard cars, wherever it make you happy, strip, track, or dyno.

I would just like to see some results.

I want this thing to work and i'm not being Anti SCT advantage, if there are cars out there with the edit, show us how the go.

Hey Dean thanks for letting the cat out of the bag...............you will have to wait a little longer to see what APS has planned for the Ford PCM though I can say we have been working in this area for over a year now.

Now the fact that we own www.bossedit.com is more than a coincidence.

No thanks I'm real busy at it is and I've no time at the moment to go through this entire process................I can say that the APS product (boss edit) will have some unique advantages over any other product which claims to edit the Ford PCM.

When we're ready to launch this new and exciting product all of the information will be on the APS web site and this will save all FF members lot of time and frustration.
