I am not saying it isn’t a good product point is we don’t know.

As most of know, I have a Unichip and have had a Xede also.

Hi Street Tuner (Martin) how about a challenge?

Everyone knows what ET: time and the kw power my Ute puts out.

My suggestion is you tune my car to the best of your ability with the SCT Advantage.

Then I will run the car at the upcoming FF drag Meet at Heathcote On the 20th of November.

We will have 60 FF member’s cars, plus spectators and 20 LS1 Owners in attendance on the day for all to see.

And of coarse you don’t work for free, I think if my car shows no improvement on the track you put my Unichip back on and I pay nothing.

But if my Ute shows a real improvement then it’s only fair I pay for the SCT Advantage and tune. As long as I know before hand of the cost involved.

It’s up to you, Martin you can show all us FF members how much better the SCT Advantage is over our piggyback chips or if you don’t like the idea of this challenge just turn it down.
We've been through all this before. There is more to a good tune than WOT. Go back and read some earlier posts on the subject.

It's called driveability. You cannot do a comparison based simply on a drag race. The engine will make what it makes. WOT tuning is easy. Part throttle is hard. Deja-vu all over again...

Dev,

This product has had some localised verbal marketing based on what it can achieve qtr mile wise for an auto equipped vehicle.

I personally dont think there is any doubt that this will be a complete tuning solution - I think XRFPV8's suggestion has merit, and would lead to only a positive outcome if this product has the goods.

We dont need to go over who has done what etc all over again, and whilst this is only a suggestion, it could show the Australian motoring public what the product will do for them.

Minge, I agree with your sentiments, but I think a little slack is needed here - the thread is moving in a positive direction, the vendors/tuners have told us about all the positives. The FF drag day could really boost the products direction for the people who are unsure. Lets see it work.

Martin, yes I will be lining up for a tune. I think this is a great idea. A piggy back VS edit drag challenge wouldn't work here, because the edit can do what an interceptor can do, so its cancelled out. You yourself have started providing some hardcore info, help us out and organise a tune.

There is no need for spite. We all want to see these cars smash LS1's.

And Mark, really, any excuse for a run lol

Organising shoot-outs between various manufacturers and tuners here has been tried before. I believe I was one of the first to offer the opportunity in a tuning debate here using another product a couple of months ago. The silence from those making the claims was deafening....and it never went ahead.

I have no problem putting the SCT tuning system up against any other form of tuning for the BA - at the track - on the day - on a totally impartial vehicle (ie. Ford demo car etc.). Just like my LS1 challenge (where all those involved ran and hid once I offered it) give each interested party the vehicle and access to a dyno for one hour, and then back it up at the strip with timecards. Same day, same driver, same tank of fuel. No excuses, no smoke and mirrors. Im up for it, and will show you that SCT Advantage can definitely do what a piggyback cant.

If you want its an invitation that I am happy to let your tuning business Bluestar(?) take up. You guys get yourselves a piggyback of choice, install it in front of me. I will tune with the SCT in front of you, and we both do the track thing. That would make for an interesting day.

Re: Wheres Boss Edit?

I don’t own a tuning shop, and I cant and don’t know how to chip or tune any car, maybe a mower or minibike lol...

All I had was a car to supply, that’s why I thought use a car that was already piggybacked and try to keep simple and in good faith.

But the whole thing will probably end up in a shit fight.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You might be surprised how many people will only buy a tuning product with the viewing of a quarter mile time slip, that’s the only place we can use, more performance.

I understand you can only tune whats there to be tuned, I thought by using the Advantage my times should also improve through torque reduction, shift points, getting auto’s in line with diff gears 4.11's, think it does line pressure on the auto
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris i trust that cam & springs etc: ready before Thursday.

Martin,

I just said (i think) that a comparison between piggy backs and the new edit is not what we are after.

re read what I wrote.

My business is Bluepower Racing Developments. I specialise in cylinder head R and D, specialised engine blueprinting. I am not a tuner.

Check your PM martin, and give me a call. I will organise something for you.

Chris
