In another thread it shows a huge gain from a Unichip supposingly how will the Edit compare to such comparison?

Introducing the Boss 290 powerplant
The Boss 290 combines the best of both worlds, with race-bred power and everyday comfort. The awe-inspiring Boss 290 is a powerplant unlike any ever built in this country and comes to life on Australia's only current V8 production line.

Mr FPVGT I am begining to like you! You ask all the good questions. The edit will give you similar power gains maybe a few kws more. But there are many more advantages than peak power. First - the dip in the power curve is i think a torque/power reduction map set by the darkside. This would be to perhaps give softer shifts and to take it easier on the trans. The edit will be able to program out that map to remove the dip in the power curve. Then you would get the most power/torque the motor can produce at given revs. Then you can program a higher shift pressure to the trans to give crisper shifts. End result a auto GT that will smoke off the line without stalling it up and consistent push in the back off the line I am guessing you knew that?

Imagine if it was cheaper, required no wiring, was invisable to roving diagnostic "eyes", and only needed a few dyno runs to check fuel and spark. I would think thats a big step forward?

Sounds like it will be a good thing for us Boss owners. Finally we can have some real tunning capabilities to give it to the LS1 blokes.
Cheers Alex.

I like the sound of this, especially the cheaper bit.

Re: Wheres Boss Edit?

Well ive been told a rough price for the unit but that was a while back, what does a xede, unichip set one back. The edit holds it over the rest (if it works) as you can change everything that the factory computer contolls. I guess all forms of chips & edits can only make as much power as the engine produces, its the other little things that will make the difference like changing rev limits (If game enough) wilder cams, no speed limiter.

Will this editing system also work with the EECV fitted to the AU?
