just got my car back from mr muffler today they did a good job on my car.
the new muff sounds awesome, kinda loud so i keep the silencer in there.
ne way just thaught id stick a pic up for u guys to see........

I'll see if i can get a sound wav up, but it is very deep and pretty loud, crackles and pops when i down gear as well, ahhhhhh just how i like it............

Its a N1 style (ripoff) Cannon muffler with titainium tip, 2.5" inlet, 3.5" outlet straight threw 2.25" piping cat-back no resinator.

The muffler cost me $165 and piping cost me $140
So all up $305 not a bad deal.

I was just really looking to make some noise off it coz i was gettin sik of hearing nothing and wasnt lookin to much in gettin big gains outta it allthou it is more responsive after about 3g.

urgh bloody milo tins... I'm going more for the sporty restrained zorst note, something that sounds really euro sexy without being drony or too loud. a mate's 206 1.6 Peugeot I'm using as a benchmark, a nice sexy set of twin pipes at the rear are possible and just an overall sweet tune, not too loud. Having heard mike's 1.8 I can imagine that your 2.0 Zetec with zorst sounds pretty loud and does have nice popping on the downchanges, but whatever floats your boat!! Personally you would have done well to mid mount that sausage and leave it straight out rear, would sound equally as good just not look as blatant!!!!! But congrats on the job, still many of us without mufflers or mods so you're doing well! If you can get those wavs off ur phone or something it'd be pretty cool!!!

Heehee, I think I'm with zetec in terms of exhaust tastes. I would personally prefer a quiet restrained zorst that is not too intrusive. Maybe a little bit louder than the stock, but not much, but most importantly with a good mellow (but quiet) tone. The consideration being to allow my little 1.8 litre zetec to breathe better, but not to be wanky about it.

I'm also starting to get a little worried that the car will sound too brash after installing a BMC CDA induction kit .... :(

Exhaust is definitely one of the next mods for me as well... the std exhaust is very mellow and un-inspiring.

Yeah i actually wanted a good setup such as u sugested Zetec but with limited cash and no job (heehehehe bloody TAFE students) i couldn't afford a good one, this setup does the job for now and didn't cost very much so im very happy. I must admit i do like the jap style deepness sounding zorst i hardly put the music on now just listen to the car.

I agree that it would of looked better straight but the exhaust place said it couldnt be done and i trusted there judgement......but i still like the angled look, very Jap N1 style.

my herrod muffler/tip would be more what your looking for zetec. i'll try and get a pic up of it. its just bassically a little larger than stock so it fills out the cutout in the rear bar. and it sounds great. not too loud. its not annoying in the cabin so when you turn up the music a bit you can't hear it droning, but from the outside it sound great. another choice of exhaust if you want the euro sound is anything from the remus range. my mate has a remus exhaust on his golf vr6 and it also sound great...very euro.
