I popped this photo with the work camera out on site the other day.

1989 EA 'S'
mods: extractors & exhaust
mild port and cam
custom intake
upgraded brake package
more to come...supercharger????

If anyone raced at sandown cup in november last year they may have seen it. 3rd in class to a Porsche and a HSV GTS (was classed in over 2.5L modified class). Thought it was going to be a bad day when I saw what was in my class (3 Porsches, HSV GTS, some Honda S9000 thing (or something like that), and a couple of VK 5L. Where does a 4L (shhhhhhhh sposed to be 3.9!) 6 cyl falcon fit in there! I was the slowest at the end of the straight at about 190 - 195 but made up the ground through the twisty bits and under brakes (surprised me too!)

Thanks BOF, the wheels are ROH ZS in a 16x8.

If you get them, make sure you get the 8 inch (or wider) because they have a better offset. The smaller ones have the spokes level with the outside of the wheel and it makes them look crap. I will post a close up later to show you what I mean. I cant go any wider because there is only a 2mm clearance on the inside (they scrape occasionally).

I saw an ED at the Tickford day with 17s and they look real sweet :bcool:

The intake is made up with some bits off an EF, with a k&n filter and stainless tubing.

The brakes are tickford (i think they might have been off the EB GT or ED Sprint or something like that). Its a simple change but it seems to work a lot better. I also have some cooling ducts that I made up to fit for racing.

you will notice on the pics that the actual rim (not the spokes, but the polished lip bit) is about 2.5 inches or so wide and it comes out past the spokes quite a bit. On the smaller width rims the spokes are in line with, or slightly outside this lip, which is only about 1 inch wide. It makes them look stupid. Thats my opinion anyway

8 inch wide rims were as big as i could go as the rim almost touches on the inside (only about 2.5mm clearance)
one tyre joint put a wheel weight on the inside lip of the rim. when i left there store it was going tap tap tap tap tap. i stuck my head under the gaurd and there was nothing left of the wheel weight because it was rubbing on the arm!

my EA is up for sale!!!

Im still not totally decided yet, but the EA will probably have to move out of the garage to make room for a new purchase thats in the pipeline (clue: its got 2 extra cylinders and wings

And rather than leave it out in the cold, id much prefer it go to a nice new loving owner who look after her (And so would the bank!).

It'll be sad to see it go, its done me very well :redhrm:
