if it is a lifter would i have lost any power before it decided to die? ive been feeling a slight loss of power of late

might look into replacing the head gasket whilst the rocker gear is out of the car

Do you mean that you've lost a rocker arm? If so that's not hard to fix, takes half an hour and it's cheap as! And if you haven't looked under the bonnet yet, what makes you think that it is a lifter?

hey thanks for the replies, yeah its a piece of piss to replace them but they are around 25 bucks each, and there is 12 on them.....its pointless to replace just one

im kinda hoping something has screwed up with the cam caus then a nice new crow cam or somethig similar will ease my anger !!

this is the first thing that has put the car off the road (well its still drivable but it sounds like there is no oil in it), but its to be expected for a cheap car i spose,

ahh well ill pull it down tomorrow and see whats going on,

ill get an oil pressure test and a cooling pressure test, at least if i do have a dodgy head gasket (which ive been suspecting for a while) im already basically gonna have to strip the engine down almost to the head anyway so i might as well replace that whilst im there, but we will see how it goes!!
