CFI is a computerised fuel injection, not a carby yeah?

This may seem like a stupid question, but I had this guy come into my work yesterday, and he said that my car looked nice, blah, blah, blah... nehow, he asked what engine I had, and I said CFI.

His mate then goes "ah, you got the carby engine" and I said, no, I got a CFI.. And I was about to say that there is no such thing as a carby engine in an EA, but I didn't know them, and couldn't be bothered arguing, and I thought that they maybe right, considering that the CFI has the same type of airfilter as a carby..

Neway, I just want to know who's right, for my own sake :) and I'm hoping that I'm not driving around a carby engine, when I always thought it wasn't..

Thanks,
Dave

they often refer to them as the carby ones because they have the carby style airbox and a throttle body that doesnt look too different. however it is still computerised electronic fuel injection. Granpa likes to call mpfi - efi, and cfi, cfi.
