Lightbulb Coloured LCD panels for EF/EL

I was playing around with my (friends) spare Fairlane dash, and with some help from a friend, we worked out how to change the LCD panel colour. (I.E. how to change the Orange Odo, Clock, Trip computer, and climate control LCD Colour).

The colours that we have sucessfully changed these to are Red, Blue, and Yellow.
Yellow still looks a little bit Orangy, but I think we will have it working pretty soon.
Blue also looks a little bit washed out, (Like a dark sky blue).
So far, the most promising colour has been Red, because we actually fluked the right colour and density for the LCD Lens.
Anyway, here is a picture of how it turns out.

Here is another picture of the whole dash.
Not a very good picture, but at least it gives a good idea of what I am talking about.

If anyone is interested in how this is done, then let me know, and I will post a Tech Article to the Donut King !

Cheers
Matt

Thumbs up Tech Doco Started

Oh and the really good thing about this mod is that it is a cheap as paper (literally) to carry out.
I spent about $3.00 for about 100 sheets of different coloured paper.
(Enough to do a couple 100 LCD panels)

I still need to write up the Climate Control, and the Trip Computer.
(Climate control is a b@st@rd, as the LCD panel needs to be de-soldered.

When Finished, I will send to DK for the Australian Ford Forums Tech pages.
Cheers
Matt
