anyone know what the penalty is for driving a manual car on your p's with an auto restriction??

hm got no idea..although it would have to be a very switched on cop to pick you up, unless you have given him a reason :)

On one hand I could see it juts being a little fine or lose of 1 point. But on the other hand its not good IMO to have people who were too lazy/crap to get there manual licence and then buy a manual instead of an auto.

When you get the rego done they might pull you up? Not sure...just keep it dark I say :)

fkn hell, vicroads would have to be the slowest site in the history of the internet.
from what ive concluded so far, youy dont get any demerit points (but you do if you drive in a way so that you risk hitting tram passengers) but im assuming there would be some fine involved. i even tried searching queensland transport department for any information and it tells you that you cant drive a manual on an auto licence but doesnt tell you the penalty, which is just ingenious. might have to resort to giving local branch a call or something

Im not sure on the penalty but a mate was let off with a warning driving his manual silvia on an auto licence.
The cop wouldnt let him drive it so I had to go and pick him up, swap cars and drive his car home. My car was auto at the time.

ok well i did actually go to get my manual license today but i couldn't do it in my car because the handbrake needs to be in the center so they can reach it. so just a warning if you have your auto license and want to get your manual license you can't do it in an ea-ed falcon. i rescheduled it but i can't really be stuffed doing it now. i'm off my p's in 6months.

Dont bother, how often do you get pulled over? I drove a loud 351 powered XF for about a year and never got pulled over. It was bright yellow, didnt have an engineers, over the power to weight restrictions, too low, too loud with 17's. All on P plates and I was never hassled.

i've only been pulled over twice in 2 and a half years. so yeah i might not bother. even if i do get pulled over its not that likely they will notice i have an auto restriction and driving a manual car. but yeah still interested on what the penaltys are if i do get caught? i tried looking on the vicroads website but couldn't find anything as well.

I drove manual for a while on an auto liscence but got away with it.

I have no idea what the fine is (it's not on the website), but you're unlikely to get caught in 6 months. Hell, I drove my boss' manual truck almost every weekend for 2 years while on auto restricted P's and didn't get caught. Come to think of it, in 4 years of driving the only people who ask to see my license have been bouncers in pubs/clubs
