I went out to Eastern Creek today to watch the Group N Touring cars & also see Alan Moffats '69 Mustang & the XY GTHO Super Falcon.

Yep, excellent stuff and thanks for sharing the pictures.

While I'll be leaving my XY totally stock and original, the idea of giving my Plymouth a vintage touring car theme is really starting to grow on me...

Yeah was a great day Blown XR6. Perfect weather and some perfect racing. Gee some of those old girls get up and mumbo. Was a shame that the Mustang and Falcon only did slow speed demo laps, but hey at least they were out there and mobile. I was reminded about how much racing heritage Ford has, either in its own right or providing the running gear in specials.

Drive of the day belonged to the guy in the bright green XW HO that charged thru from the rear of the grid to finish second in the third tourers race, but the jaw dropper was the 1934 Bugatti wheel spinning of the line.

Guys if you want a low key fantastic day of unique sights, smells, and downright fun get to your next historic race meeting.

Yeah was a top day.

We only ended up seeing two or three race's all day cause we spent so much time in the pits looking around.

It was a top drive from the green GT. He must of stalled or something at the start cause he was on pole.

Yeah he did, then couldn't get the starter motor to engage. Had at least 10 attempts and then got it going after all but three cars had passed him.

Theres no doubt that listening to the sounds of the old tourers is magic. They have plenty of mumbo and need to be driven rather than pointed like some of the more modern race cars.

Nothing quite like an XY at 45 deg angle getting it all wrong but looking so right.
