Howdy,

I am now the proud owner of a series 1 AU XR6. (Awesome car)

However there is one minor problem, every bodykit i see says "for series 2 & 3 au only" Whats the deal?

I understand the bonnet on series 2 & 3 were different to 1, but i have seen the au 250 pursuit ute's bonnet and it looks the same as the series 1 !?!?!?

I really want to use a 250 ute front bar, ts50 side skirts and a ts50 rear bar
or try a complete ts50 front conversion. which means i got to buy a new au 2 bonnet and headlights.

PLEASE HELP ME SAVE MONEY BEFORE BUYING THE WRONG PARTS.

According to Falcon Facts (geocities.com/falconfacts), when AUII came out, all the models EXCEPT XR and Utes got the High end (fairmont etc) bonnets, so if thats right there should be no difference in bonnets between SI and SII XR's?

Yeah, thats true as far as I know if its an XR, they keep the same bonnet as the AUI no matter whether theyre AUII or AUIII

So can anyone tell me why at this website below, they tell me that the 250 ute front bar will not fit my xr series 1??? same for the ts50 front bar?

I think they are talking about the Pursuit Lip, not the whole front bar. The series 2 bar does fit on the series 1 cars. HOTDBZ has already done this to his car - but he used genuine Ford, not Fibreglass copies.

ok the reason they are saying this LIP will not fit onto your SERIES 1 is not to do with the bonnet at all

it is to do with the fact that the bottom of the front (and rear) BUMPERS were different between series 1 and series 2/3

if you were to replace the whole front bumper then yes you would have no problem as it would all line up as they use the same bonnets

All you need is a series 2 bonnet [from the wreckers] T3 [tinted] headlights or the T1/2 painted ones [or you can do it yourself with standed lights,] again from the wreackers, a T3 bar with T3 grill the spot lights and there you have it, as for the sides and rear bar all Pursuit 250 stuff all over the counter from ford, then you'll have a T3 ute, should look sweet....
