Well, as some of you know, I've been working on the bodykit for my Blue Flame Focus for quite some time. Well, the time has finally arrived.
The car has spent the last week in the panel shop, two days more than expected due to issues arising with color matching. The color code of the car (T3) did not produce an accurate color, which we have been informed has been discontinued by Ford. Also, after a first attempt at spraying only what we needed to on the front bar, we decided to remove it and go ahead with spraying the whole front end. The side skirts and rear bar are less dramatic as the nose, but beef out the factory look. Those photos don't really do them justice, thanks to the sunlight shining directly on them.
This kit has presented a major problem - ride height. The front bar is rather close to the ground, which means I am not going to be able to remove all the air from the guards as first planned, so I will have to settle for something in between. Such is life, though, I guess.
Well, for those who know me, I've been waiting ages for this, for the fact I hated missing half my front bar (which was removed to test fit this one) and also had a minor coming together with a Falcon which left my rear bar slightly damaged.
All is fixed now, and I am very happy with the results. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the people doing my car, when they thought it wasn't right, they went back to square one and did it again without me having to do anything.
So while it has been delayed, the end product has turned out well (in my opinion, anyway) and I am happy. Onto the suspension, tint, and exhaust to finalise exterior mods (well, the exhaust tip will be part of the exterior styling).
Cheers for looking! Tim!
