This is my AU futura with ts50 style body kit and AU1 xr double wing rear spoiler (yes i know it needs to be lowered, just give me some time)
now my plans are full herrod exhaust and lowering to name a few!
hope u enjoy the shots...
im really happy with the rear of the car, i was quite worried how the au1 spoiler was going to look with the big ts50 rear bumper but i think it looks good
gives the car a much sleeker look from the side than the actual TS50, especially once its lowered
How did you get the headlights apart to paint the inside bits - I have tried but was too afraid to break the plastic. I know there's a 'how to' on the forum somewhere that mentions putting them in the oven. Did you do this? I tried to put them in my oven, but they don't fit. Any help would be appreciated, as I really hate the chrome finish on mine.

Ford Fanatic - they dont do the pursuit nose to my knowledge
why dont u try a ts50 front on a ute...i think itd look sweet
unless if youve already got the xr lights of course
JCV8 - i was told about the oven idea aswell, sounded simple as but i had the same problem, youd need like a kiln to fit the huge AU headlights in. What i did was make up a sort of blade attachment for my electric soldering iron (if that makes sense) and then slowly (and i mean SLOWLY, the bastards took me ages) cut the plastic around the very edge of the clear lense to get them open. i then sanded all of the chrome paint off with sandpaper, sprayed it with some primer then sprayed the black on. then i went back to the soldering iron and melted the join back together. after that i wiped some solastic all over the join just to be extra sure. NOTE - none of it can be seen once it is put back on because the bumper covers it up along the bottom, the grill covers it up along the side, and the bonnet and front quarter panel covers the top - the rubber seal thing is stuck back over the top of it anyway. hope this helps, pm me if u need any further instructions. WARNING - be prepared to get very frustrated and waste a lot of time doing this job, but in the end i felt it was worth it cos the finished job i am very happy with. i so far havent had a problem with the lights fogging up with moisture getting through the join and ive had them done for about 2 months now
au2_xpack - the grill is part of the front bumper that u get, will be getting some clear side indicators mate, am also looking at maybe tinting the rear tail lights, think it might work really well with the headlights and the black on the rear spoiler and grill.
KEEN4D - thanks for the info. I'll give it a go over the next few weeks.
I've seen an XR8 ute in Canberra with a genuine Series 2 TE50 front end and it looks great (he's one of the newest members of our club). I reckon the series 3 front is even better and would like fantastic on a ute - of course, it wouldn't be as good as a sedan!
