Hey everyone out there, i subscribed to FordForums for my dad since he is a ford nut, all he ever talks about when hes in his car chat moods is his pride and joy or other fords he wishes he could own.

The pic is my dads pride and joy, standard 6cyl with no added extras, my dad likes to keep his cars low profile so no psychos decide to pinch it bloody thiefs.

Could anyone suggest a first time car for me, since im almost 17 and i need to start looking for either a car to do up or one to run me around in, but i wanna stick to tradition and get a ford. any suggestions???

Well... the EA series Falcon can be a good thing or a bad thing, as long as you know what you're looking for. My brother is in the same situation as you are, looking to buy his first car. I'm trying to find him a good EA, you can pick them up fairly cheap, and they are a hard looking car when done properly...

But its always possible to buy one with problems, and thats what you've got to be careful of...

Of course, there are always other things other than Falcons, but.... Falcons are the best! *grins*

Just get someone who knows alot about cars to really check out an EA/EB if you decide to buy one - or check out any car you decide to buy, Falcon or otherwise...

Don't rush into it and you'll be sweet

If you have a look in the E-series discussions, you will probably be able to find a few guys with some nice cars.
Look for EA-ED fairmonts as these cars are going for some good prices these days, and they have all the mod cons that would give you a good start to reliable motoring!
