Got it today. ED 1993 Futura, 144000km, 5sp factory manual. Marked Price $8990, got it for $7700 from Elite Motors, Southport QLD.
She had a few problems, first the timing gear seal was shot, and was spraying a bit of oil, and the was a bit of rust under the driver's door. The dealer fixed both for no extra charge, and also chucked in a chrome exhast tip for being a young tacka (18). The car still has a few flaws, hence the discount and some bargining from dad, like a couple of minor dents on the drivers side tail, and beneath the door, but being from a country town, I can get them all fixed for reasonably cheap. The orriginal owner (retired couple) must have lost the smartlock keypad, so does anyone know how I can get a replacement? When I get her home after uni exams i'll be swapping the silver stripe for a red/orange one, new front passenger mudflap from wreakers, and those dints knocked out. Well, here's a pic. http://www.fordgallery.com/showphoto...cat=500&page=1
looks aight, now you just have to remember not to give it a real hard time, or you will be spending money on it!
trust me, I found out the hard way with my first car :)
Indeed they are a sweet ride, i haven't stopped grinning since i got it. I went to super cheap today and picked up a bottle of armour all and did all the interior, she's looking pretty spic on the inside now. All the door handles, cruise buttons and dash look brand new. Don't worry Chad_XF, i had a que of about 5 cars behind me on the way back, peaved off because i wouldn't go over 50.
The keypads are quite expensive if i remember. You get them from ford, and fordmods have the instructions on how to program them. It involves a set of procedures to tell the ecu to pick up the frequency the pad puts out..
Ask the dealer or ford about getting a new keypad.
