Hey, i have had my EAII Fairmont Ghia for a month or two now.
After replacing the rear brakes a freind and I took it out to bed them in. We also decided to try my new car at some line-lockeys.
But it appears the clutch spins on its self. I have simmilar trouble other times too, I have put it down to a waorn clutch. Other symptoms are decreased power to the wheels when cruising (going up hills etc) Also a "gritty" feeling sometimes when driving.
does any one have any idea and any estamations on how much i should pay to fix. (it was quotted back home from the ford dealership as a $600 job for a new clutch) the annoying thing is a carnt waste money getting it checked out by a mechanic
the clutch itself will cost you about $150 .. maybe you need to take the flywheel off to get it surfaced (recommended) less than another 100 bucks. Thes rest is labour.
Easy maths IMO
Too right, looked it up, covers transmission, but not clutch, plus the warranty sucks anyways, $600 limit (on transmission or engine or diff etc) plus have to get stuff signed and stuff
