Sound deadening (Pics)

Just finished doign the boot last night. Might go an extra layer in the future, but it'll do for now.

Here's some pics of the SD before hand

Here it is applied to the boot, used about four sheets so far...

The bootlid is being done atm with the really thick stuff, extremely hard to mould though. Would look cool of the floor was done also but there's no point in SDing MDF lol

Yeah dude looks good, but ong, ur ass end is going to be heavy, then again, my car having a heavy rear causes it to have grip.

Whoa! Nice work mate. Looking very respectable. I am planning to do mine in the future, but I want to finish off some other much-needed mods first. Can you honestly say if this has already made a difference?

Re: Sound deadening (Pics)

The main area's I wanted to sound deaden were the bootlid, underneath the parcel shelf and the inside of the quarter panels (right hand side especially). These area's recieved special treatment, the bootlod and parcel shelf got the thicker stuff, the right hand side quarter got a few layers of the thinner stuff (ran outta the thick sh!t lol), and the rest got a single layer of the thin stuff (just to keep all my bases covered "read: wank factor ") After this, the bitumen material will be layed on the inside of the quarter panels, and in a few other spots that I find for it. The tailgate will have a piece of 8mm thick MDF shaped, screwed on and edges sealed with speaker sealant (read: blutack) and then a carpet will be stuck over the whole lot to make it all look shmick.

Believe it or not, but I actually used up ALL six sheets of serenity in the boot, was hoping to have enough left to do a layer on my front doors but alas I will need to purchase some more serenity shortly. I will prolly be needing another three rolls of bitumen material aswell. DAM IT, WHEN WILL IT END???
