I've been thinking of selling my car a bit lately (since the head gasket going, some other annoying things...) and Mum's come up with a deal that has made me think about it more. She reckons if I sell my car, she'll give me hers and buy a new one...meaning I'll be able to spend whatever I get from selling my car on hers, which wont be needing a RW or reg for me to start driving it. The bonus is also that the roof is completely straight, along with the rear quarters which will make painting it a lot easier.
What do you guys think? It's a 4 speed CFI. I have all the stuff to convert to MPI, but I will need to get a new fuel tank and clean up the lines because it hasn't been driven on petrol for about.....12 years The gearbox has been playing up quite a bit lately but I think I'll stick to auto for a while if I get it. It has a EF head on it as well btw.
What do you guys reckon I'll get for my car? I wouldn't mind about $2700, I think that's pretty fair considering all the work (including a new head on it, and a RWC). It also has the following mentionable points:
Done about 304,000km now. The engine and gearbox are perfect, I seriously haven't got a bad thing to say about both. Did a compression test on the motor and it came up all good. The only thing is the head gasket, which will be fixed before I sell it.
Nah sedan dude. I want to go back to auto 'for now' because it makes it better for driving in traffic. You felt my clutch lol! Imagine that in peak hour traffic, feels 20 times heavier after sitting at a set of lights for 10 minutes lol. Manual conversion is piss anyway, I could probably get one happening for like $400.
well i got $1700 for my dinted dodgily repaired ea about 2 months ago it had cfi, 3speed only plus side about it was the electric sunroof (leaking but) so use this as a guide i'd think you can get a little more than that my ea was un rego/un rwc

If you reckon your mums car is straighter than yours, and you can get it up to a similar standard to the one you have now with the amount of cash you will get, then go for it
But if she is offering you her car, why not have a massive Eseries meet and reshell ya mums car with all your bits?
I agree wif old_mate swop all the stuff you want out of your car to your mum's...
