Not as exciting as the SA boys one.. but here goes!
A late trip to Sydney last week meant my car was stuck with stock bumpers while the others were off to get prepped for spraying, on the way home a nice grinding noise greeted me from the air con compressor.
500km's later i got to within 1 km of my gf's house where it seized.
Gave thanatos and psycho chicken a call and they came down to give me a hand to see if we could free it up.
We managed to get it freed up.. with the help of a hammer, cranked it... nice grinding again, i can handle that.
car wouldn't start now.. somethings wrong electronically
Thermo's are staying on.
LPG system seems to have no power.
Moving onto next day.. my car can't make it to heathcote.. dissapointed but i'll live
Morning of heathcote - Must be at Ford HQ (Broadmeadows at 2pm).
12 Mid day
Arrive at psycho chickens to prep for trip to heathcote..
only car in the drive way... psycho chickens car with car missing parts..
sure sign of worry.
12:30pm
Thanatos and Rmyers arrive with much needed parts to reassemble psycho chickens car
1:20pm
On the road, still need to get petrol and day passes.
Might make it to ford if we're lucky...
2:20pm
Western Ring road.. missed ford meet point and lost Rmyers during some unscheduled lane changing. Wait for him to turn up.
4:00pm
Travelling through Heathcote township.. 18km from Track
We would've been alright until one of the rocker bolts seized (got it off by hammering a smaller socket onto it) and then rob dropped one of the lifter's retainer and cap into the sump. So a trip by Rmyers to jolly's for a bolt and ford for a lifter ($40!!!!) gave us the parts we needed to get it running.
I don't think Steve was having a good day, first a bus cleans up his mirror, then he gets lost as we make a four lane change. lol He didn't seem real happy...
Good thread I like reading about all these adventures with pics, although it's unfortunate to hear about you car John. I hope it's not too expensive to fix
