this is my XF panelvan which i got from fowles for $450. it was stolen recovered. a brief rundown on it and then what it needs and future plans.
1986 GL panelvan. 214000km.
VERY strong 4.1 carb, 3 speed column auto...no oil leaks on either.
Air con, alternator and radiator had just been replaced.
Body is exceptionally straight.
Door handles actually work (lol)
Absolutely everything works in it.
Came complete with owners property.
2 brand new tyres, the others 1: 3/4 tread, 1: wrong size.
New stock suspension.
Tinted windows.
Tow bar.

Now the bad....well its not that bad.
No keys, got some to fit but cant open spare wheel section. need a set of locks.
Bench seat....with cracks.
VERY VERY minor rust for a PV...side windows and top back corner.
Crack in front screen and 1 side window (got replacement already)
Some small dents in back doors.
NO COMPLIANCE PLATES OF ANY SORT. but vicroads gave me the OK to put back on the road.
Just to knit pick......
Standard height, brown interior, no power steering, standard rims.

Future plans:
Fairmont Ghia interior, fully carpeted back, XG grill and mirrors, lowered, rims, darker tint, LSD, extractors and 2 1/2 inch flow through system.

well that about sums it up i reckon. 2 tyres, 1 screen and side window, fix rust and its RWC.
Just getting a basic RWC for now but will update when i start doing mods.
Hoping to get a camera and post some better pics later in the week.

it certainly was. thought it would go for more than it did. these 2 pics are the ghia i was looking at if you remember (i mentioned somewhere). the one with VOLVO is the other side of the ghia so i thought id go the panelvan instead. it paid off!!

I remember. I'm glad it came through for you... From memory, you were being stuffed around by the auction company, and they were listing the XF, then they wernt, and they were being hard to contact.

yeah apparently there was too may cars that week (over 7hrs worth) so they bumped them both to last wednesday the 18th feb. just as well cos i would have been scrapin the barrel for the transport even thought it was only $110 on a transport truck.

LOL sorry but ur mistaken thats a different car... if u look closely its got no back seat head rests, and look at the close up pic of the ghia u can see the headrests, (all ghias got headrests anyway)

i realise this and did notice a few very minor differences, but i looked closely at the background and noticed the same car in both pics (in the volvo pic it is the one that is partially covered by the volvo roof) and both these fords are parked against the fence. the very little bit of the back rim you can see is also a LTD rim. this car was a stolen recover so maybe the back head rest had been nicked??

either way i seen it and had no way in person to verify that the side of the car was or wasnt damaged so i didnt take the risk. you could say the same about the panelvan but nothing had been put in my mind that it had been damaged.

Never was a fan of the XF pano, the front slopes down to much for the rest of my car IMO, but yours is mint to do up, respraying or keeping white?

LOL, i dont want to make this something big, hehe, but in the close up pic of the Ghia u can see the headrests on the back seats

so it is a different car and also there is a blue car next to it not a white volvo

not making a big thing either but the car i meant is behind in the background on the other side of the fence. both photos were taken taken on different weeks which is why there is a volvo in one and a blue car in the other but the car in the background looks to be the same in both.

i will be keeping it white as the paint is really good and still is very shiney even though i havent washed it yet. just got some stuff today for it. looking to be pretty cheap to put back on the road.!!
