'00 Ranger have to top off entire tank on fill - Ford Forums

I just got a 2000 used ranger, the most base package 2.4L, when I go to fill it up at the gas station, the pump keeps clicking over. I basically have to top off the entire tank to fill it up. I have tried the obvious, different angles, pulling the sleeve back in so forth. The shmucks at the dealer won't even look at it. Has anyone every seen this or experienced this? and if so what was the cause?

Check the vent tube from the tank to the nozzle to see if it's kinked.
