when i turn the heater on i smell shit throught the vents litterly!

Did it just start doing that suddenly? If so, something might have gotten in the system. If it smells like dirty socks, there's some type of mildew in the ducts.

its been doing it for a while where do i start looking and for what?

I had to remove the heater box and plenum to clean one out. I used a chlorinated cleaner internally. There are products that can be sprayed inside and sort of work. I tried but it didn't last. Yours might be different. Here's just one. 1Z Einszett Klima-Cleaner Air Conditioner Treatment
