anyone have any times they would like to share from running the 1/4 in any ranger. modified or not, doesn't matter. just state if it's stock or modified, and what motor it has. (4 cyl,6 cyl, 8 cyl)
(not bragging by any means)
95 2.3L 5 speed manual. bone stock (150,000 + miles). best was 18.01 @ 76 mph. haha that's extremely slow, i know. just figured i'd share
i dunno, 18.01 is not very fast by any means. but i seen someone drive an automatic 97 Ranger single cab 2.3L flareside, and they ran 20.3. i thought mine was slow. hers looked really good, but what's the point of making it look nice, when it has no power? kinda lame if you ask me
1994 Ford Ranger STX 4.0 5speed 109,000mi Slightly modified, ran 12.3@103mph, currently its back to semi stock lol but use to have a super charger on it when she ran the 12.3 but probably as she sits she might pull of a 14 flat if i redline to each gear. 1st- 37mph 2nd- 62mph 3rd- No Clue goes past the speedo 4th- even further 5th- never gets there the limiter kicks in. so if you wrap your minds around it boys this little truck really cruises for only having forged stuff put in the engine even when its rolling on 33's that puppy will light the tires up and go, my ranger has been known to take out most 5.0 mustangs
12.3 huh. sounds pretty good for a 94 4.0. 5 speed. what other things besides the blower did you mod to your 4.0? what is all the things that are "forged"????
i live in iowa but moving to texas here in 2 weeks. it has forged flattop pistons, forged rods, port and polish, bigger valves, steel crank, compression is 12.5 to 1, Vortech Supercharger 11 psi, Comp Cam dont know the number off hand but it makes it lope like a v8 at an idle. all togther its putting out 320 - 340hp and right around 310 - 325 ft lbs torque. thats just what it says but i dont know about it being actually 300hp, it doesnt feel like it but who knows might just be because its pushing around 4000 pounds of truck.
93 octane with 2 jogs of octane booster lol or else it dies at the stop light. runs really great on airplane fuel though. im thinking about attempting to run e-85 to see what that does to it
wouldn't it run better if you used like 108 or 116? i heard that octaine booster is a bunch of bs.... but hey if it runs, who cares. sounds like a mean little ranger. where about in texas are you moving? maybe i'll have to bring mine down there when i get it finished, and we'll have to race.
you should try running 108 octaine. i heard from many sources that octaine booster doesn't actually work. but then they also said it would not make a stock vehicle perform any different, and yours is defenetly not stock. so either way. where about in texas are you moving?i have some family down there.
